Kasabian gatecrash stage as they win British Group gong at Brit Awards 2010

Tom Meighan stays onstage after winning award

Kasabian were named best British Group at the Brit Awards 2010 tonight (February 16).

Taking to the stage to collect their award, Tom Meighan initially lay on the floor before saying:

"I wanna thank everyone who's responsible," Meighan said before cryptically adding:

"All I can say anyone is you cannot make an omlette without breaking some eggs."

Meighan then stayed onstage while host Peter Kay introduced the next award for 'International Breakthrough Act'.

Earlier this evening the band had put in an energetic performance of their single 'Fire', surrounded by flames.

The acts nominated for British Group were:

Doves
Friendly Fires
JLS
Kasabian
Muse
